Marketing Strategies for Brick-and-Mortar Stores

Giants like Amazon and eBay have made it simpler than ever to buy products online. But still, a vast majority of people prefer buying from physical stores rather than online.

Why?

It’s because of the personalized interactions those brick-and-mortar stores offer. People can also try out the products in-store and ask direct questions if something goes wrong.

If you’re also a store owner, you can utilize a range of unique marketing strategies to attract new customers and stand out. Here we’re talking about some of them.

Invest in Curb Appeal

There is a reason big retailers display eye-catching merchandise in their stores during special occasions. It instantly attracts the shoppers and gives them a reason to visit. You can also do the same year-round. You can adorn your storefront with flower pots, seasonal plantings, and entertaining signage.

You can also keep changing the look and feel of those displays so buyers don’t get bored.

Use Videos and Photos to Create Engagement

If your store is located in Sydney or Melbourne, you can use GoPro Australia to offer a virtual walkthrough of your shop. It’s a great way to show people how your store looks and what you bring to the table.

If you host local pop-ups or product launches, you can use the camera to capture that energy. For example, set up a camera at a fixed location and capture a time-lapse of your store filling up with people. It would be a hit when you post that on your social media channels. You can also give customers a behind-the-scenes view of how your products are crafted.

Run Search Engine Ads

In SEO, you generate traffic through organic methods. But with SEO ads, you get traffic through paid channels. The most common type is Google Ads, where you pay the platform to rank above the organic search results. It’s a highly effective marketing strategy for your brick-and-mortar store, as people (in your area) who want to buy your products/services will find you directly on Google and contact you immediately.

Here, you select a set of keywords to attract users who’re searching for specific phrases. Your ads then get displayed, and you only pay when someone clicks on your ad. It’s a less expensive marketing method with huge ROI (if done right).

Host In-Store Events

The more you invest in your people and workforce, the more they’ll take care of your customers. You can host in-person events like grand openings, workshops, and promotional campaigns. Now, announce this on your social media channels as well to build community engagement. People hearing about the events would feel good to join them (and can become your customers).

You can also offer special discounts for the attendees so they feel encouraged to buy from you. Some stores also offer free samples of products/services to make people experience everything firsthand.

Final Thoughts

You’ve invested a lot in creating your store and adding products to it. You should also pay equal attention to marketing so your products reach the right people at the right time.
